Monday- Watch Stossel videos listing title and 2 statement about that issue; High Fashion, Vaccine Fears, Unintended Consequences
Tuesday- Stossel videos: Food Donation, Media Scares; discuss
Wednesday- Stossel videos. Plan for apple lab
Thursday- Bake with apples
Friday- Eat apples. Find video about a teen issue that includes an idea for a solution
Consumer Foods
Monday- Make Salsa
Tuesday-Finish salsa, and taste test, fill containers for sweet rolls and challah braid
Wednesday- Make Homemade Spaghetti sauce with fresh tomatoes
Thursday-Mix caramel rolls; leave in pan in refrig; cook spaghetti sauce some more, refrigerate.
Friday- Bake caramel rolls and beverage.. Plan for cake decorating; reminder to bring cake mix and bag of powdered sugar.
Food Science
Monday- Chapter 2- Careers in Food Science, read and answer questions at end of chapter.
Tuesday-Chapter 3- Being successful in Food Industry Careers, do terms and ques. 3b, 4b 5,7, 8b, 10b
Wednesday- Chapter 4- The Meaning of Food, do worksheet
Thursday- Correct worksheet, discuss; Find video about Food Science.
Friday- Correct Chapter 4, watch videos. Chapter 7 "The Chemistry of Food" due Monday.
FCS 8
Monday- Collect food records and accompanying computer charts. Video and worksheet- "Your Nutrition Style"
Tuesday- Discuss video worksheet and fill in blanks. Start "Carb Controversy" video.
Wednesday- Video "Carb Controversy" do worksheet and discuss. Watch "Egg" video.
Thursday- Plan egg lab; discuss omlet in a bag- 2 eggs and 3 ingredients
Friday- Make eggs and toast.
